The all-star studded performance of “8” added another Hollywood leading man to the cast on Wednesday, announcing Brad Pitt would play Judge Vaughn Walker.
And, if you are like me and could neither afford tickets nor make the trek to Los Angeles for the production, we get to see it live and free on YouTube this weekend.
The American Foundation for Equal Rights announced today the reading would be live-streamed started at 7:45 on Saturday, March 3, on the nonprofit’s YouTube channel.
“At long last each and every American will be able to see for themselves what happens when prejudice and fear are put on trial in a court of law,” said AFER president Chad Griffin, in a statement.
“8” is written by Dustin Lance Black (who wrote Milk) and uses the actual transcripts from the Proposition 8 hearings as well as interviews with plaintiffs and their families to build the script of the play.
